Cambio Consulting Group is Hiring a Data Scientist/Fraud Data Analyst - Department of Justice Near Washington, DC

Job DescriptionCambio Consulting Group LLC is seeking to hire a full-time Data Scientist/Fraud/Corruption data analytics for a contract with the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience, including securities market experience. This position is remote, although it does require 1 trip a month to DC for 4 days. Must have good understanding in building data analytics programs and programming languages: PYTHON, SQL, Excel, SAS, R, C or Java. Working closely with US attorneys, FBI agents, and forensic accountants, the Data Scientist will pull, normalize, and smash data from multiple data sources (including government, external, and corporation accounting systems), develop and apply learning algorithms to assist in the analysis of the data, and build user interface and user workflows for attorneys and agents to gain insight.
In addition, the Data Scientist will be expected to provide expert advice and recommendations, summarize findings in reports and presentations, and lead training sessions to teach others how to use the available data sources to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis.
TASKS:
  • Designing, deploying, and scaling analytical products with a multi-skilled team to deliver the right insights to the right people at the right time.
  • Creating and executing a clear data and governance roadmap within a defined budget.
  • Overseeing technical development of software / analytics platforms and including process assurance and validation of the results.
  • Smashing disparate data sets to assist business users in finding insights and actionable intelligence.
  • Building environments conducive to the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Building user-focused platforms for users with minimal technical experience.
  • Communicating to business owners without technical expertise and being part of a team that will tackle complex data challenges.
  • Flexibility to assist in ad hoc projects as needs arise.
KEY SKILLS:
  • Ability to determine the appropriate sources of information as well as techniques to analyze a wide variety of trading data to include performing statistical analysis; experience managing and working with large data sets.
  • Substantial and RECENT experience working with relevant data analytics programs and programming languages (e.g., PYTHON, SQL, Excel, SAS, R, C#, Java); experience with data visualization and presentation.
  • Financial Analysis and Software systems experience with ERP systems
  • Securities market exp
  • Exceptional organizational and strong written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

GATING REQUIREMENTS:
  • MUST have a Ph.D degree or be in the process of obtaining a doctorate with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Can be a recent graduate with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Must have securities market experience.
  • Must have Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain clearance following a background check.
  • Must have experience with Python including developing within Python
  • Must have financial analysis and software experience with ERP systems (ex. financials, oracle, peoplesoft, accounts payable, vendor master, order to cash, customer master and similar tables)
