Cameo Consulting Group, LLC a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking several qualified and available Personnel Security Specialists, to support a prospective Federal client in Washington, DC. The positions are full-time, long-term in nature, onsite and offsite, and available upon contract award.

The Contractor shall screen, review, and evaluate completed "issue" and "non-issue" Reports of Investigation, which shall include NACIs, ANACIs, LBIs, and MBCs.

BACKGROUND: The Contractor shall screen, review, and evaluate completed "issue" and "non-issue" Reports of Investigation, which shall include NACIs, ANACIs, LBIs, and MBCs.

TASKS AND DUTIES:

• Knowledge and skill in one or more or more personnel security program areas (pre-screening process, single-scope background investigations, periodic reinvestigations, etc.), in order to respond to various inquiries and directing or assisting in the maintenance and review and update of associated case files, records and resources.
• Fingerprinting applicants.
• Planning, developing, and conducting program analyses concerning all aspects of current or projected operating programs.
• Reviews all investigative reports to ensure all pertinent information has been developed and that all investigative factors have been addressed.
• Reviewing the OPM PIPS/CVS .
• Creating and updating the applicant’s profile and initiating the background investigation in National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
• Researching and resolving discrepancies in personnel security issues.
• Successful performance of daily activities will require a familiarity with several specific policies and procedures. The staff must abide by these policies and procedures and will process work in accordance with these policies and procedures & professional, architect & engineering, administrative and management functions).
• Receiving, logging, and/or reviewing requests for initial or updated investigations to ensure proper procedural requirements have been satisfied prior to opening the investigation;
• Reviewing personnel security documentation and providing input on controversial issues or discrepancies identified;
• Coordinating and monitoring progress of investigations by periodically reviewing the status of case files to determine which phases of the investigation remain to be completed;
• Reviewing incoming correspondence and separating according to section;
• Entering data for pre-background investigation files.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience conducting personnel security suitability related functions.
• Must be able to review and initiate a minimum of 15 cases per day.
• Must have a working knowledge of the National Background Investigation System (NBIS) in initiating, facilitating, processing, and monitoring the background investigations process for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5.
• Knowledge of conducting security audits and reporting results.

• Strong oral and written communications skills

• Shall have experience in gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports.
• Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with customers.
