The staff Psychiatrist provides consultation for primary care physicians, triage of outpatient psychiatry patients, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illness with medication management and therapeutic methods. The staff Psychiatrist is a member of the Behavior Health Team.

Responsibilities:

• Complies with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Camillus organization.
• Creates a warm and welcoming clinical environment where clients feel supported and respected as they pursue their personal, academic, and professional goals.
• Provides psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, medication evaluations and follow-ups.
• Assists with crisis/urgent referrals and supports transitions to higher levels of care.
• Participates in care coordination with therapists, primary care, and other Camillus resources.
• Participates in and contributes to committees, peer supervision, and other required staff activities.
• Exercises independent medical judgment consistent with approved, evidence-based methods according to specialty and in the best interest of patients.
• Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in clinical work and all professional activities.
• Participates in clinical case conferences.
• Advocates for patients within Camillus and the community.
• Participate in the Bureau of Primary Health Care’s Depression Collaborative by implementing the pre- and post- screening assessment tool for depression.
• Works effectively and professionally with Camillus staff and community partners.
• Follows all protocols as delineated in Camillus Health’s Medical Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Documents and maintains accurate health records.
• Provides supervision and sign protocols for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner(s)
• Performs any other department or agency related duties or special projects as directed by Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Valid license to practice medicine in the state of Florida.
• Valid DEA certificate
• Eligible for Medicaid/Medicare provider status
• BE/BC via successful completion of an accredited residency program
• Experience with public health issues as it relates to health center needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and documentation
• Commitment to the mission of Camillus Health Concern, Inc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish), Creole a plus
• Work effectively and productively in a team environment.
• Computer literate; previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC)
• Culturally sensitive to the social, psychological and health care needs of the Homeless and/or underserved populations
