Camp Sequoia is a business that places a premium on hiring and retaining the best staff. We are an overnight camp for boys ages 7-17 who need help developing their social skills. The camp is designed for campers with ADHD, ADD, social anxiety, and social thinking challenges. Many of our clients present as twice-exceptional or gifted and while they may need reminders for executive functioning purposes, they do not need physical assistance typically with activities of daily living. Our staff live onsite and enjoy quality meals, a/c rooms, staff spaces, paid certifications and more.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Quakertown, PA for a Summer Direct Support Worker. The Direct Support Worker will work with campers on a daily basis to provide support and guidance for social skills development, and will also supervise and facilitate group activities throughout the day based upon staff expertise and camper interest. This is an excellent opportunity for caregivers and those with a school year schedule to work with kids in a different way. Camp Sequoia is research-based and evidence informed, empowering our kids to become the best versions of themselves.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young adults with social thinking challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Experience working in a summer camp or similar environment is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
• Patience, Kindness and Whimsy will serve you well in this role.
