Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor

Camp Skylark is looking for gospel-minded men and women of ages 18 , who have a heart for discipleship and the local church. Our vision at Skylark is to bring in fun, creative counselors who love kids and can lead them to follow you as you follow Christ. A Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor is a part of our Skylark family, and you will experience the community of your fellow staffers along with development and discipleship investment from your leadership team.

Camp Skylark has locations across the DFW area serving Allen, Mansfield, Dallas, Plano, and the surrounding area.

Every child needs a HERO in their neighborhood. Summer Staff at Skylark get to be that hero. We are sold out for the local church, and we love inviting kids and their families into it, sometimes for the first time. Working at Skylark means being a fun, exciting example of God's love to each kid that walks into camp. Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor Commitment:

• Attend Summer Staff Orientation (Starts May 17th)
• Commit to the majority of summer with off weeks requested ahead of time
• Serve 7:00a-5:00p (including time spent with your team in community and discipleship 6pm-7pm)
• Be teachable and humble
• Have a blast!

Christian Summer Day Camp Counselor duties are:

• Lead the campers assigned to you by shepherding them physically, emotionally, and spiritually
• Support the program director and other staff during program activities with your attention, energy, and enforcement of the rules
• Provide quality instruction at your assigned activity class(es) and ensure camper safety at all times
• Enforce all health and safety regulations and report all injuries and illnesses to the appropriate staff
• Follow the proper disciplinary/reporting chain when camper issues arise
• Be able to communicate the current mood, struggles, victories, and attitude of your campers to the program director or full time staff at any time
• Have one-on-one time with each of your campers during the week
• Other duties as assigned by the camp director
