Job Summary
The Material Handler/Truck Driver is responsible for the loading, unloading, stocking, picking, kitting, and moving materials by hand and/or with the aid of industrial powered equipment. As well as, drive a tractor trailer, to deliver products/parts/kits to local customers and or Camrett docks. Making yard moves and dropping and hooking trailers to help with the efficiency of docks.
Providing customer service by performing the tasks of the job safely, accurately, and to the best of you ability.

Essential Functions & Physical Demands

Safely load and unload materials from trailers using LP or electric powered forklifts, manual/electric pallet jacks, wheeled racking or other manual hand trucks.
Safely move and stack materials using LP or electric powered forklifts, manual/electric pallet jacks, wheeled racking or other manual hand trucks to designated locations in warehouse.
Must be able to determine that the part or item matches what the customer has ordered by comparing part/item numbers, shapes, size, or colors based on the part or item.
This person must be able to lift and maneuver parts or items on a rack or pallet in multiple directions, frequently.
The person in this position must be able to ascend or descend onto an industrial powered forklift's seat, frequently.
This person must be able to move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, to load, unload, transport, or stack material.
This person must be able to turn at the waist, while seated, to look in any direction of the forklift movement constantly.
This person must be able to remain stationary constantly
This person must be able to walk frequently
This person may need to stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally
This position requires light work, that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly.
This position requires medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally
This position requires heavy work that includes moving objects over 50 pounds rarely, or with team lifting.
This person must be able to respectfully communicate with others to exchange information.
This person must be able perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank, daily.
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects, daily.
Entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
Gather information from dispatcher such as, locations of deliveries picks ups, and directions
Coordinate trip based on Federal Motor Carrier Safety (FMCS) Regulations
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and completing the Driver Vehicle Inspection report
Read bill of lading to determine trailer number, and product
Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Maneuver truck into loading or unloading position
Secure loads by fastening load locks, to do so may require climbing into trailer from ground level
Drive truck to weigh station to ensure load does not exceed legal weights set by DOT regulations
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods
Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.
Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
Remove debris from loaded trailers.
Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
