Job Summary: Responsible for performing various physical tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of concrete structures. This includes mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete, preparing job sites, and ensuring that all work meets the required specifications and standards. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Preparation

• Clear and prepare job sites by removing debris and ensuring a clean work area.
• Set up forms and scaffolding for concrete pours.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine job specifications.

Concrete Mixing and Pouring

• Mix concrete using appropriate tools and machinery, ensuring the correct consistency and mixture.
• Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, and trowels.
• Monitor the curing process to ensure proper hardening and strength.

Finishing

• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
• Install and finish concrete surfaces such as sidewalks, roads, curbs, and floors.

Maintenance and Repair

• Patch and repair concrete surfaces by removing damaged areas and replacing them with new concrete.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
• Clean and store equipment properly after use.
• Support other team members as needed, including carrying materials, operating equipment, and performing general labor tasks.

Qualification:

Experience

• Previous experience as a concrete laborer or in a related construction field is preferred.
• Familiarity with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of different types of concrete mixes and their applications.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and concrete-related machinery.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures on construction sites.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational training or apprenticeships in concrete or construction work are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
• Stamina to perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Capability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction sites, subject to various weather conditions.
• Potential exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
