AWS/CES is looking for a System Engineer III

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Salary: $47an hour

Contract Duration: 3 months with the possibility of being hired

Position Type: Onsite

On-Call Requirement: 1 week out of the month

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer III to join our diverse team within the Enterprise Technology Operations Org. This role involves the design, planning, implementation, and support of our OnPrem and Cloud-based compute infrastructure and application ecosystem. You will ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing to ensure proper system upkeep.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based environments and related infrastructure.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
• Stay updated on current technological developments and trends in your area of expertise.
• Provide clear handoff and instructions to outsourced resources.
• Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability proactively.
• Effectively prioritize and manage multiple open issues concurrently.
• Lead and mentor System Engineer I and System Engineer II team members.
• Develop and maintain useful documentation for application or infrastructure procedures.
• Suggest changes and efficiencies to standards and automation for continual improvement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of Windows operating system internals, system manager tools, account/file maintenance, and user-level commands and utilities.
• Experience as an AD domain admin.
• Experience with on-premise or cloud enterprise infrastructure design and support.
• Experience using and managing SCCM.
• Comfortable working within virtualized environments like VMware.
• Solid networking knowledge.
• Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• Experience with change control policies and submitting thorough records for approval.
• Solid understanding of security and performance best practices.

Preferred Certifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
• Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA)
