- High School diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years driving experience
- Hold a valid Ohio driver’s license
- Maintain safe driving record pursuant to O.A.C. 3301-83-06 (F)(2)
- Physically capable of completing the daily pre-trip/post-trip inspection
- Physical capability of safely and appropriately lifting and managing preschool and special needs children when necessary
- Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to preschool and special needs children
- Ability to complete required preservice and annual in-service requirements
Performance Responsibilities
- Safely drives a school van on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules,
- Transports students, teachers and others on school field or activity trips.
- Inspects assigned van on a daily basis prior to transporting of passengers to ensure that van is in good, clean and
- Cleans and refuels van as needed.
- Reports all mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents, promptly.
- Maintains order an proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.
- Maintains and submits records and reports as required.
- Follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to ensure student safety.
- Attends driver training programs as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children
- Establish and maintain positive and cooperative professional relationships with students, parents, co-workers, and
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
- Nine (9) month contract
EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Transportation
