Medical DosimetristJob DescriptionSUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and in consultation with the Radiological Physicist, the Dosimetrist generates radiation dose distributions and calculations in order to create an external beam radiation treatment plan for each patient in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and according to established procedures.
  • Design a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field to a defined tumor volume.
  • Assist with or perform the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices.
  • Provide technical support for radiation treatments and simulations.
  • Provide support to the physicists for qualitative machine calibrations of equipment.
  • Participate in treatment plans for research studies with submissions to protocols.
