Candlelighters Houston is Hiring a Director of Development Near Stafford, TX

The ideal candidate will be an outgoing relationship-builder that is responsible for partnerships and fundraising related to the organization. You will identify prospects and build a pipeline of sponsors and partners that will help accelerate the company's financial growth in order to fund our mission of providing emotional, educational, and practical support to childhood cancer families in Houston. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a plan for funding through special events, grant proposals, annual appeal and more
  • Take ownership of fundraising events inclusive of marketing and public relations
  • Act as a public representative for the organization
  • Work cross-functionally with other staff, event teams, volunteers etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to deal with multiple tasks and events simultaneously
  • Strong ability to work with a diverse group of constituents
  • Excellent writing and creative skills
  • Excellent verbal and public speaking skills
  • Ability to work well on your own and to take initiative and ownership of tasks and events
  • Ability to manage and set budgets and goals in relation to fundraising
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Database Softwares (Salesforce, Blackbaud etc.)
  • General Graphic Design Knowledge (Adobe and Canva)
  • General Social Media Management
  • General Website Management (Wordpress)
  • Preferred 3-years non-profit experience
