The General Manager [GM] is responsible for the achieving the performance results as established in the budget, Flight Plan, property specific strategic plans and other expectations and goals that have been established for the property; all while maintaining and cultivating the culture of the hotel in line with the company’s Mission and Core Values.

Team/Talent:

§ Review and approve property payroll according to company policy and procedure.

§ Ensure proper selection, hiring/on-boarding and retention of all property staff.

§ Ensure training, coaching, counseling, and engagement of all team members.

§ Conduct annual personnel performance appraisals for all direct reports.

§ Ensure team members effectively understand and follow all brand programs for guest satisfaction.

§ Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by each team member at all times.

§ Ensures associates are engaged in the hotel and feel good about their importance and value to the hotel and company.

§ Writes and follows the hotel’s operating budget each year.

§ Implements and follows action plans to improve performance in this area.

Guest Advocacy:

§ Ensure there is a thorough plan in place to maximize guest satisfaction/advocacy at the hotel.

§ Meet with and solicit comments from guests regularly to determine guest satisfaction with services and facilities.

§ Monitor guest feedback and take appropriate and timely action according to company policy.

§ Inform staff on a routine basis of the hotel’s results with regard to Guest Advocacy.

§ Take steps to ensure the greatest guest satisfaction possible within budgetary constraints.

§ Ensure the security needs of the guests, staff, and property are met.

§ Ensures all team members know area attractions and services to accommodate guests’ needs.

Operation Excellence:

§ Responsible for the protection of the company assets, ensuring preventative maintenance, inspections and testing are completed as required.

§ Manage expenses to maintain or exceed budget, making adjustments as necessary based on revenue forecasts and other circumstances.
