This position is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting users on the organization’s Salesforce instance. This position will be expected to build enhancements based on end-user feedback, identify automations, and serve as an advisor for business process optimization. This position provides day-to-day technical assistance as well as owns large-scale process improvements, seamlessly managing deadlines and urgent tasks. This position should be willing to take initiative and collaborate with staff in accordance with the organization’s core values: Teamwork, Compassionate Service, Integrity, Community, Excellence, and Innovation.

A typical day as a Salesforce Administrator may include:

  • Maintain and optimize Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack instance to ensure seamless business processes and app integrations, including Pardot, SproutSocial, DocGen, FormAssembly, QGiv, VolunteerHub, Sage
  • Manage large sets of data, performing bulk migration jobs, initiating quality sweeps, and setting up control mechanisms
  • Design and implement efficient data flow and management, using rules and automations to uphold data integrity and data hygiene
  • Respond to end-user issues, working directly with users to troubleshoot root cause, achieve resolution within Service Level Agreements, and uphold department’s quality of service
  • Manage user permissions and access levels, regularly auditing activity to protect privacy and license usage
  • Run Salesforce backup and proactively monitor system maintenance, including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
  • Administer staff training to onboard colleagues, build platform engagement, and launch new processes
  • Establish and maintain user-friendly support documents, continuously improving materials so they are up to date and adapted to user feedback
  • Prepare custom reports, dashboards, and analytics to facilitate business decisions by executive team
  • Drive system upgrades by overseeing enhancement logs, vetting customer feedback, evaluating business impact and scope, and presenting recommendations to VP of Technology
  • Interview end-users to identify operational needs, validate technical requirements, and produce innovative solutions that help drive the organization forward
  • Implement and adhere to Salesforce best practices, supporting Salesforce Developers to manage release cycles, deploy code, and mitigate risk factors (i.e. security, scalability, limits)
  • Build and maintain a Data Dictionary that documents all objects, fields, data types, and integrations, so that future enhancements and changes can be executed in an organized and transparent way
  • Be accountable not only for direct responsibilities outlined in this job description but also to serve fellow staff and other constituents with whom this position interacts
  • Ensure actions and communications follow core values

EXPECTATIONS:
To be successful in this position:

  • Must Haves:
  • Certification required: Salesforce Administrator
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Salesforce administrator in a similar environment.
  • APEX coding language and integration via API’s.
  • performing Salesforce upgrades, integrating with third-party apps, and regression testing
  • developing page layouts, custom fields and objects, and process automations
  • leading training sessions, providing end-user support, and producing reusable resources
  • Outstanding time and work management skills. A self-starter who can adapt to changing priorities, is able to assess capacity and bandwidth, and holds themselves accountable to deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position will interact with staff, vendors, and other contacts via multiple channels: email, phone, video call, and in-person.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work spirit, and positive can-do attitude
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work products while managing multiple tasks at once and never compromising attention to detail
  • Willingness to cross-train with Technology teammates to uphold seamless customer service
  • Nice to Haves:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable or related field (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science), or a combination of education/experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
  • Competency in other languages / tools desirable (XML, Flex, .NET, SQL, C , SOAP-based web services, HTML, CSS, Javascript)
  • Experience with nonprofit processes

PAY: $85,000 - $105,000 per year

The base salary range above represents the low and high of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of total compensation package for employees.
