Position Overview

  • The Revenue Cycle Analyst is responsible for both commercial insurance and Medicaid claim processing for multiple programs, the appeal process for denied claims, A/R tracking, collections, and accuracy of statements. The ideal candidate preferably has experience working with multiple payer sources, including Medicaid and commercial insurances, in all aspects of the billing and collections process. The Revenue Cycle Analyst will appropriately respond to client and payer inquiries relative to claims submitted and client accounts. The Revenue Cycle Analyst will keep the Billing Manager and Revenue Cycle Manager abreast of payer trends and issues negatively impacting timely and accurate reimbursement. All tasks must be performed in a timely and precise manner in accordance with government rules and regulations, including Medicaid, and organizational practices, policies, and procedures. The Revenue Cycle Analyst must collaborate with the Revenue Cycle team to improve billing and collections processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Processes and follows up on electronic claims (Medicaid and commercial payers).
  • Communicates with payer reps as needed to obtain accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Works rejections and denials in a timely manner.
  • Researches any payer or provider issues negatively impacting reimbursement and promptly communicates with Revenue Cycle Manager.
  • Monitors charges and verifies correct payment of claims and allowable deductions.
  • Follows policy and procedure in assisting with communicating and collecting client responsibility when indicated.
  • Processes client statements and reviews for accuracy.
  • Analyze monthly reports for issues and collaborate with revenue cycle team to resolve any issues.
  • Upholds confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of two (2) years' medical, behavioral, or physician's private practice experience desired.
  • Increased billing experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • The Revenue Cycle Analyst must possess strong attention to detail, have effective communication skills, and a strong background in resolving insurance denials and collecting accounts receivable.
