POSITION SUMMARY:

The Yard Maintenance is responsible for performing upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety

• Promotes Cantera’s culture of “Safety First”

Operational

• Assist with equipment & material check-outs
• Knowledge of construction materials preferred
• Valid Commercial class C driver license required
• Must be able to work outdoors subject to inclement weather (heat/cold) year-round
• Ability to use basic tools
• Having some mechanical experience is a plus
• Assist in the loading of trucks
• Check equipment in or out as needed
• Verifies that equipment is in good mechanical and safe operating condition upon being taken out or being returned
• Responsible for red tagging equipment that needs repair
• Assists drivers with loading/unloading as necessary
• Ensure checks to verify stock levels for re-ordering are accurate and appropriate
• Delivery of goods with the use of forklifts
• Prepare material for the issuing of jobs
• Pre-loading all trucks
• Participate in training programs as required
• Other duties as assigned

WORK CONDITIONS AND HOURS:

Conditions and hours

• Works on site over rough terrain
• Requires overtime hours
• Often exposed to the elements
• Must be comfortable with travel on a need-to-need basis
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
• Some weekends are required
• Frequent activity of Standing, Kneeling, Walking, Climbing, Bending, reaching above Shoulders, Pushing and Pulling
• Must be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feet
