- Administrative
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activity programs of this facility in accordance with residents care assessments.
- Abide by current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards of practice, in order to assist with necessary changes in department policies and procedures.
- Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and involve the resident/family when planning objectives and goals for the resident.
- Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement in order to chart detailed notes regarding resident’s activity progress.
- Perform administrative requirements as needed including but not limited to forecasting the department budget, purchasing department supplies and clothing/personal items for the residents.
- Committee-Serve on, participate in and attend various committees and continuing education programs of the facility as required. Participate in regularly scheduled reviews of resident discharge plans.
- Assessment and Care Plan- Assist in developing comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of residents and develop a ‘Plan of Care’. Review and revise “Care Plans” to ensure follow through and quality control. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care.
- Staff Development- Assist in the development of and participate in the orientation and in-service training programs related to the activity program.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information; and adhere to Resident’s rights
- Implement activity procedures and oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities as directed by the Activity Director.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Activity Director.
- Must possess high school diploma or its equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
- Proven ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents, family members, visitors, and personnel served with patience, tact, and enthusiasm.
- Must possess leadership ability, willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel, and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
