SummaryIn collaboration with and under the medical direction of a staff anesthesiologist, the CRNA is responsible for providing quality care utilizing the team approach. The CRNA provides anesthesia services to patients in accordance with CFVHS policies and procedures. The CRNA practices within professional anesthesia standards and in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act. The CRNA maintains clinical and professional competency and provides individualized, age specific care. The CRNA administers intravenous, general and regional anesthetics to render patients insensible to pain during surgical procedures and in obstetric deliveries or other medical and dental procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExperience preferred, new graduates considered. American Association of Nurse Anesthetist (AANA) member. Current CRNA Certification required. Current BCLS certification preferred. ACLS provider certified preferred. Knowledge in the field of anesthesia with a comprehensive understanding of its effects on the healthy patient as well as those with compromised organ systems. Ability to perform anesthesia skills and techniques learned during didactic education and training.Visual and auditory acuity; problem solving skills; ability to function “under pressure” and respond to an emergency situation quickly and skillfully; respectful, with good interpersonal skills relative to patients and all hospital staff / employees. Walking, stooping, bending, assisting with side to side transfer of patients, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting and standing.
