Cape Fox Facilities Services is seeking an experience Laboratory Manager to support the NIH located in Hamilton, MT.

Responsibilities:

• Support the RML Biosafety Training program by providing biosafety training to RML staff at various levels
• Support the RML Select Agent Program through audits/reviews of Select Agent records, plans, and laboratory inventories
• Perform laboratory safety surveys for BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories
• Pre-reviewing recombinant nucleic acid and biological pathogen registrations to ensure administrative and technical completeness and compliance with the NIH Guidelines for
• Research Involving Recombinant and Synthetic Nucleic Acids (NIH Guidelines) and other NIH or federal policies
• Perform risk assessments of new procedures and new equipment for BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories
• Develop new SOPs/plans and review and update existing SOPs/plans
• Review animal study proposals for compliance with safety and biosafety guidelines/ regulations
• Inspect BSL-4 critical containment and life support systems
• Provide biosafety support for COVID-19 response activities
• Participate in facility design review for new lab construction and renovation projects
• Perform lab and equipment decontamination and validation procedures
• Respond to facility incidents and alarms and conduct timely risk assessments
• Prepares and maintains documentation of test results.
• Maintain laboratory records, reports and files.
• Independently plans, implements, and organizes all activities related to laboratory function.
• Provide daily oversight and management of laboratory operations to ensure continuity of experiments and data analyses.
• Manage and resolve lab administrative and technical problems.
• Develop standards, timelines, SOPs, and delegations of authority for use within the laboratory.
• Coordinates the financial management and has accountability for monitoring the operating budget.
• Propose funding estimates for new lab initiatives and on-going project activities.
• Assists with the development of laboratory policies and procedures.
• Identify relevant concerns, research applicable regulations and policies, compile and analyze material from many disparate and difficult to access sources
• Coordinates the training of new staff.
• Ensure that all staff have required training and certification needed for human and/or animal research.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Biology or a related field
• Perform laboratory safety surveys for BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories
• Develop new SOPs/plans and review and update existing SOPs/plans

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
