Who We Are:

GMA Accessories, Inc. dba Capelli New York is a major U.S. manufacturer and distributor of apparel, footwear, novelty and gift products, jewelry, ladies fashion accessories, handbags and sports/athletic apparel. We were established in 1990 and have approximately 600 employees in the U.S.A. and 2,500 employees worldwide. We have offices in the U.S.A., China, Hong Kong, Germany, UK and Bangladesh. Our U.S. warehouse facilities are located in New Jersey for east coast distribution and California for west coast distribution.

What We Are Looking For:

We are currently seeking an Apparel Product Development Assistant to work at our South Hackensack, NJ Office. This is a full-time position in our South Hackensack office working 5 days a week from 9:00am to 6:00pm. The candidate must be proficient in Excel, have excellent communication skills, detailed oriented and a team player. Experience is a must! We will consider new grads with a Bachelors' degree in fashion.

Responsibilities:

1. Creating initial cads and tech packs.

2. Measuring samples and adding the measurements in the system.

3. Fitting the samples on fitting forms.

4. Taking pictures of the product and uploading the images into the system.

5. Maintaining the showroom and sample room.

6. Updating sample order chart.

7. Creating binders with approved trims and swatches.

8. Pulling samples for sample request as needed.

9. Submitting samples to photo department as required.

Skills and Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree required

2. Must possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

3. Ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while under pressure is crucial

4. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator , Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

5. Ability to prioritize, multi task, and work effectively in a fast paced environment in order to meet deadlines

6. Encompass a positive attitude, work ethic and exceptional follow up skills

7. Must have the ability to be punctual, prepared and professional
