Capio Group is looking for an experienced Business Analyst/Power BI Specialist!
Full-time employee - Remote
Salary: $115,000 - $125,000

Scope of Work:
Capio Group is looking for an experienced Business Analyst/Power BI Specialist to work as part of a team to successfully implement a Business Intelligence platform that will allow the client to unify, analyze, and illustrate information in order to make more informed business decisions and create workable plans and strategies to identify new program opportunities, eliminate inefficient business processes, increase enrollment, and provide adequate resources to educate. Client is looking to introduce a modernized system solution that integrates multiple analytic engines and visualization tools, and is able to manage, integrate, deliver, and support:

  • Strictly structured, semi-structured and multi-structured data files and types;
  • Advanced analytics processing;
  • Near-real-time access to data for analysis;
  • Transferring data to and from cloud services with On-Premise systems data sources and services;
  • Transparently integrate multiple platforms in unified data warehouse architecture supporting traditional decision-support workloads, such as BI reporting; 
  • Robust dashboards (static and dynamic) as well as associated visualizations to include geospatial visualizations;
  • User-friendly, customizable reports and dashboards;
  • Social collaboration tools.

There are multiple professional services beyond installation, including data mapping and translation activities, data cleansing activities, assembly of data marts / OLAP cubes, API programming, training and support, and upgrade notice and assistance.
The Business Analyst/Power BI Specialist will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:

  • Analyze and recommend BI solutions based on program business needs.
  • Work with business stakeholders to document the current environment, including as-is business process documentation.
  • Work with business stakeholders to facilitate business process improvement/re-engineering, including documentation of existing and to-be reporting processes.
  • Work with business and technical staff to elicit business and technical requirements for data and BI development processes.
  • Using BI to create active quality monitoring for data pipelines and processes.
  • Create quality metrics to evaluate data pipelines, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Ability to use business knowledge and expertise to build analytical data models and reports that can serve all business users.
  • Test and validate data pipeline, ETL and batch processing.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain BI reporting (dashboards and reports) to support business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business users and managers to discover reporting needs and develop technical design and documentation for solutions.
  • Support BI implementations and related data sources, flows, and apps.
  • Create end-user training materials, user guides, and support the delivery of end user training.
Mandatory Experience:
  1. Must have five (5) years of experience as a business analyst for information technology (IT) projects.
  2. Must have demonstrated knowledge of technical business process analysis on at least two (2) enterprise level IT projects.
  3. Must have a minimum five (5) years of experience and capability creating dashboards, workflows, and other visualizations using Power BI.
  4. Must have experience creating and delivering end-user training in support of at least two (2) IT projects.
  5. Must possess a bachelor’s degree. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A copy of the degree must be provided upon request.
Desirable Experience:
  1. Have two (2) years of experience working in a Higher Education environment.
  2. At least three (3) years of experience with ETL technologies and programming.
  3. At least three (3) years of proven experience in collecting, analyzing and scheduling datasets.
  4. At least three (3) years of experience manipulating large data sets while maintaining data integrity.
  5. Strong SQL skills and be able to work in one or multiple BI frameworks depending on need (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
