**Overview:**

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to make an impact in a rapidly growing Audiology practice? We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and be proficient in coding, medical records management, and medical billing processes. The successful Medical Biller will be responsible for managing the insurance billing process, accurately processing and submitting claims to insurance providers, posting payments, collections, account follow up, insurance appeals, and resubmission as required, while also ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.

**Responsibilities:**

· Determining patient eligibility, to ensure individuals are covered to receive services, authorizations, and deductibles. Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate copays, deductibles and any other payments are collected from patients.

· Communicating directly with patients as well as insurance representatives. Ensure understanding of patient billing and ability to answer questions posed by patients. Also, will show ability to correct possible discrepancies with insurance companies.

· Collaborate with audiology staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation

· Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims

· Responsible for accurate researching denied claims, timely submission of claim appeals in relation to all federal and state regulations, and follow up of all claim appeals.

· Identify and resolve billing complaints, answer questions from staff, and insurance companies.

· Ensures departmental adherence to Medicare compliance regulations

· Review Remittance Advice (RA) to identify status of claims submitted, identify denials, potential errors and to address correction through resubmission or adjustments.

· Develop and implement billing processes and procedures

· Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements

· Reports status of delinquent accounts to Owner

· Monitor aged accounts receivable reports, performing follow-up, and making adjustments to patient accounts.

· Review, analyze EOB/RAs, and determine the appropriate amount to be posted to the Individual accounts.

· Participate in educational activities and attend staff meetings

· Maintain the strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations

· Successful completion of special projects as assigned

· Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operation procedures and practices

· Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system and answer a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner

· Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including, but not limited to Word and Excel

· Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to confidently speak to patients

· Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks throughout the day

· Demonstrate the ability to work as a team player in a very cohesive audiology practice

· Ability to communicate and work well with others in the office. Open and honest communication.

· Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with internal and external business professionals

· Must be responsible, reliable, and able to carry out job functions

**Qualifications:**

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- Associate's degree in medical billing or a related field preferred

- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding systems

- Experience with medical billing and medical records management

- Strong understanding of medical billing regulations and laws

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Experience with medical office systems and software

- Certification in medical billing, such as the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
