Capitol Broadcasting Company is looking for a full‐time Property Accountant for their Real Estate division. The individual must be a team‐oriented, self‐starter who can handle multiple accounting functions including property accounting, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and other month end closing tasks. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, very organized and has strong interpersonal skills. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required with 3‐5 years of work experience. Previous experience with Oracle Accounting, Yardi, Excel and handling accounting transactions for multiple divisions is preferable.

Basic Duties:

• Handle general ledger and transactional accounting for various commercial, residential and other entities as assigned.
• Responsible for the monthly close process including standard monthly journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review account analysis to ensure that transactions are properly recorded.
• Perform and/or review of bank reconciliations.
• Prepare analysis in support of the financial reporting package.
• Prepare analysis in support of short term forecasts and long term projections.
• Review of Profit & Loss statements and preparation of variance analysis.
• Enter lease information into the accounting system.
• Tenant CAM estimates and reconciliations.
• Maintain average occupancy report and percentage rent calculation.
• Prepare Fixed Asset additions and disposals and maintain comparative analysis to capital budgets.
• Prepare annual property tax filings.
• Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to identify and implement opportunities to streamline or improve accounting processes.
• Assist with the annual budget process.
• Assist with audit schedules as required.
• Prepare quarterly lender reports.
• Work on Special projects with Controller as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business from a four‐year college or university.
• Minimum 3‐5 years accounting experience.
• Real Estate Experience a plus.
• Experience with accounting for multiple entities or locations a plus.
• High level of proficiency with Excel required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented and organized with an ability to manage multiple priorities & deadlines
• Should be proactive, positive and results oriented.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and
