Capitol City Produce is Hiring a Safety Manager Near Baton Rouge, LA
Capitol City Produce is looking for an experienced safety leader to join our team! We operate in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a high impact player as we continue to grow the company and evolve our safety culture.
This position reports to our CFO/VP of Administration and is responsible for the development and oversight of the company’s safety, security and risk management programs, which includes:
- Ensuring a strong safety culture and the safety and security of our employees
- Assessing risks and developing protective measures
- Maximizing the return of captive insurance loss funds
- Handling claim investigations through resolution for workers compensation, auto and general liability
- Chairing the company’s safety committee
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience or 10 years relevant safety and risk management experience. Distribution, warehouse and transportation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of current DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations
- Experience with workers compensation administration
- Availability to immediately respond to all accidents 42/7 in conjunction with Fleet Safety Supervisor
- Sound judgment and problem solving skills
- High degree of professionalism including the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Detail orientation with strong analytical skills
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with the capability of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel as needed (10%)
