We are looking for an Attorney Cash Control Coordinator - Full -Time in Metairie.

The ideal candidate is a fast learner with a demonstrated ability to work at a fast pace via phone and computer; remains courteous with customers, patients, referring physicians, office personnel and employees. Someone who is dependable, mature, has a good work ethic, excellent attendance, maintains a professional attitude, is a team player as well as adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

    1. Responsible for knowledge of the preparation, identification and application of all payments from all internal and external sources.
    2. Responsible for the review and accuracy for processes in regard to payments being posted according to contract terms, fee schedules and third-party regulations to patient accounts in an accurate and timely manner utilizing information provided on the Explanation of Benefits.
    3. Responsible for balancing payments to deposits and identifying any discrepancies. Maintaining complete, timely and accurate documentation of all payments, denials and adjustments.
    4. Analyze for appropriate levels of reimbursement and identify inaccurate claims processing decisions by insurance companies in additional making an independent decision regarding correct posting of payments when questioned by staff.
    5. Identify and consult with leadership on trends and issues with payment reimbursements while also presenting options for corrections.
    6. Recommend any system/operational changes to enhance the efficiency/accuracy within the department.
    7. Supervise refund process, overpayments from insurance companies and patients. Compile and analyze credit balance reports for proper adjudication.
    8. Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy and respect when dealing with internal and external departments to help identify and resolve issues.
    9. Mentor the Payment Processing team in reviewing processes and workflow to ensure that employees understand their duties and are guided to better performance evaluations when needed.
    10. Must be able to train coworkers and new employees in all day to day workflows if needed.
    11. Ability to obtain missing information from multiple sources of data on funds received and flagged as unidentifiable in order to correctly reconcile funds as needed in support to other staff members.
    12. Maintain daily financial accounting totals for reporting.
    13. Special Projects as Assigned by Associate Director and Director.

Maintains confidentiality of and compliance with all company and patient information in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, HIPAA regulations and CIS policies.

    • Skills in answering telephones, balancing figures, inputting data into computer programs, maintaining filing systems, maintains logs, researching information.
    • Skills in operating adding machine, calculator, Fax, personal computer, photocopier
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to maintain a professional image including courteous behavior.

Education:

Minimum: High school diploma

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree

Experience & License:

Minimum: 2 years of lead experience

Preferred: 3 or more years of lead experience

Physical Demands:

- Mostly sedentary work

- Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs)

- Occasional standing/walking

- Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
