Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Location: York PA 17402 Duration: 14 Weeks Contract Shift: 2:45 PM to 11:15 PMJob DescriptionAs a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality healthcare services and assisting in the overall management of patient care. LPNs work under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or physicians, contributing to the well-being of patients across various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and home healthcare.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, dressing wounds, assisting with activities of daily living ( ADLs ), and implementing treatments as prescribed.
Conduct basic nursing assessments, gather patient histories, and assist in physical examinations, documenting relevant information accurately in patient records.
Administer medications orally, intramuscularly, intravenously, or topically, adhering to prescribed dosages, timing, and documentation guidelines.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop comprehensive care plans that address patients' individual needs and conditions effectively.
Provide patients and their families with education regarding their medical conditions, medications, treatments, and self-care techniques to foster health promotion and disease prevention.
Maintain thorough and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, medication administration records, progress notes, and any changes in patient conditions.
Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care, timely interventions, and optimal patient outcomes.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Demonstrate flexibility in managing changing patient needs and healthcare priorities, while efficiently prioritizing tasks and responsibilities.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice, respecting patient confidentiality and rights.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities, attending training sessions and staying updated with the latest advancements in nursing practices and regulations.
RequirementsMust hold a valid LPN license in the state of practice.
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
Strong knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and protocols.
Proficient in performing basic nursing skills and patient assessments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift, move, and support patients when necessary.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caregiving .
