We’re looking for a Commercial Claims Litigation Manager to lead and manage staff in day-to-day department operations. Claims Litigation Manager will direct and manage litigation specialists and in-house counsel.

We’re looking for a Commercial Claims Litigation Manager to lead and manage staff in day-to-day department operations. Claims Litigation Manager will direct and manage litigation specialists and in-house counsel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Analyze claims and new litigation for potential exposure
- Assign litigation defense work to appropriate legal counsel; obtain defense plan
- Provide legal opinions to Claim Department personnel
- Evaluate defense counsel performance
- Set loss reserves and expense reserves for each file based on defense plan
- Review all files in suit and consult with defense counsel; ensure defense counsel is aware of any affirmative defenses
- Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree required
- J.D. is preferred but not required
- At least 10 years of litigated claims experience
- At least 4 years of supervisory experience in claims
- In-depth litigation knowledge and experience, including motion practice not limited to declaratory judgment actions
