We are representing an industry leading Fortune 500 manufacturing organization who is actively seeking a Senior Safety Specialist for one of their flagship manufacturing locations. This position will be report to the Site EHS Director and will be responsible for ensuring that all plant safety, health, and manufacturing ergonomics standards are consistently being improved. POSITION OVERVIEW Plan, coordinate, and implement health and safety procedures and programs Recommend changes to safety policies and work practices to increase awareness and reduce exposure risk. Develop new and revised programs (LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, etc.. to address hazards, prevent accidents, and ensure compliance with local, state and Federal regulations Establish written safety standards Coordinate, maintain and recommend plant manufacturing improvements (design/redesign) in an effort to reduce recordables and improve productivity Plan and coordinate safety training for new, internal, and external employees Evaluate safety and ergonomic viability of new and existing processes Ensure appropriate and required safety training is complete and properly documented for all associates Review, evaluate and audit company’s 5S program as it relates to Safety POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health/Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or other related technical field is preferred. Candidate should have at least 5 years of progressive Ergonomics, Safety, and/or Industrial experience in high speed manufacturing environment Extensive understanding of OSHA regulations Proven ability to train employees on safety and ergonomics protocol Work cell design/redesign to improve/eliminate recordables
