Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Category Strategy to include assortment, vendor mix, promotions and pricing.
- Assortment Planning
- Negotiations
- Vendor Management and Relationships
- Category Review
- Lifecycle Management, Assortment transition management through the lifecycle of products
- Negotiations, Management and tracking of Complex Vendor Funding
- Sales/Margin Forecasting and Planning
- Develop plans and adjust thru actions to achieve Budget
- Promotional and Pricing strategy to attain budget
- Identify and Launch new products, categories and businesses
- Utilization of multiple forecasting and planning tools
- Ability to access category performance and determine course corrections and business tactics to attain financial budget including but not limited to promotional strategy, pricing, assortment, and vendor support
- Partner with Inventory to ensure optimal inventory levels and manage Open to Buy
- Accurate and Timely Input of price and promo plans into planning tool to support marketing and visual merchandising work flow
Skills/Qualifications:
- Innovative, Creative, Motivated
- Ability to prepare and present business presentations to leadership
- Self-Starter, Fast Learner, Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong Business Acumen
- Clear understanding of Merchandising/Buying fundamentals such as Open to Buy, COGS, Retail Math
- 3 to 5 years Retail merchant experience and an understanding of assortment management.
- Experience as a customer working with external vendors
- Ability to work independently
- High level of organization
- College degree, related experience or certification preferred
