Cushing Café, serving Breakfast and lunch is located in the Cushing Marketplace, on the Cardinal Cushing Centers campus in Hanover, MA. We are a scratch kitchen making all of our baked goods fresh daily, sandwiches are made to order and we serve locally roasted coffees.

In addition to serving the public great food and beverages, Cushing Café provides food service training and employment for many of Cushing students and adults. JOB SUMMARY

In this position you will be crossed-trained to work all aspects of café operations, including the back and front of the house, kitchen, dishwashing, meal preparation as well as some administrative duties related to opening, closing and sales accounting.

Your primary responsibilities will be back-of the-house include prepping daily deli items, cooking items for the deli station, making sandwiches to order, baking and opening and closing tasks. Front-of house responsibilities will include assisting customers at the front counter, taking orders, handling payment, stocking, and dining room maintenance. You will also be assisting with the oversight and coordination of staff in the absence of the Café Manager.

Schedule: This position will provide coverage on week days, Saturdays and periodic special events that may occur on evenings and weekends. In addition you may be called on, with notice to cover vacation shifts as needed. You will also be called on to independently open and close the café.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 1 years' experience in food prep and customer service

· Experience in Food Safety Planning

· Must have good communication skills

· Must be patience, understanding and able to work with people of diverse abilities

· Work at a fast pace and multi task

· Ability to fill orders fast, accurately and with consistency

· Work independently, without supervision

· A valid driver’s license

Certifications:

First Aid/CPR

Food Safety Certification is a plus (ServSafe Manager's Certification)

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
