What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function.Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Prior leadership experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma process improvement plan preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage staff to ensure timely distribution and receipt of product while meeting distribution center standards of safety, quality, budget, policies, and procedures
• Monitor warehouse productivity, adhere to budget requirements, work towards obtaining distribution center programs and coordinate all necessary repairs
• Recommend and implement programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization within the facility
• Implement and administer all policies and procedures
• Ensure quality service is provided to the customers
• Ensure prompt follow-through on customer correspondence for shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand
• Manager site financial metrics
• Handle general employee inquiries and resolves concerns
• Manage supervisory and employee population development, training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals
• Use Lean Six Sigma principles to develop and implement innovations that improve the quality of service to our customers
• Document procedures while reporting on any changes in the company’s processes
