Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Manager with daily operations of the Access Center by providing assistance and support to the staff and Manager. Streamlines daily functions to expedite the scheduling of the outpatient testing and medical appointments and ensures compliance with all established policies and procedures with regards to the functions performed by the Access Center.
In collaboration with the Manager, responsibilities include, provide appropriate department/clinic scheduling based on physician privileges, procedure descriptions, schedule rules and referral/insurance requirements, and ensuring that the daily schedules meet maximum capacity. Scheduling includes assigning outpatient testing appointments for all ancillary departments and CNEMG providers.
The supervisor will communicate with other departments, physicians, and physicians’ offices staff to obtain accurate information for scheduling and all patient encounters.
Support the Access Center Representatives by providing assistance to triage issues and anomalies during the scheduling process.
Strive to achieve daily maximum scheduling capacity.
Maintains staffing schedule and assignments. Arranges for staffing coverage as needed.
Encourages a team approach towards achieving the overall goals of not only securing appointments for patients but also providing them with an exceptional customer experience.
Requirements:
Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience preferred.
Minimum of five years’ experience in scheduling/registration in a hospital or medical practice and working knowledge of medical terminology required.
Must be skilled at staff development, team building, communication, collaboration, negotiation skills and have the ability to plan, organize priorities, and problem solve.
Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required and working knowledge of payer policies and regulations preferred.
Excellent human relations, communication, and organizational skills required.
Excellent analytical, oral and written skills with the knowledge and ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers required.
Must be able to adapt to continual process changes.
Bilingual is preferred.
