Our client, a financial services company, is seeking a temporary Accounts Payable Specialist.

This position starts asap and will last about 3-6 months.

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm

*Hybrid Schedule

Responsibilities:

• Maintain all accounts payables reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payables files
• Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services, printing, reviewing for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment, for a high volume of invoices per month
• Prepare batches for payment entry
• Manage the weekly check run and prepare manual checks as and when required
• Assist in monthly closings including accruals and monthly reconciliations
• Manage and maintain updated vendor files, respond to all vendor inquiries, and correspond with various vendor approvers in other offices
• Send daily cash balances and activity reports to operations
• Act as backup to dedicated staff to review and approve employee T&Es
• Maintain Employee census
• Prepare, print and obtain signatures on all accounts payable checks, and distribute/mail signed checks as required
• Performs clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, coping, etc. and any ad-hoc projects that arise

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 2-3 years prior experience in Accounts Payable
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, graphs, and other advanced Excel functions)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on multiple issues
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Strong time management skills, ability to work within deadlines
• Self-starter, desire to learn, grow professionally, and contribute
