We are looking to add an Accountant, Treasury to join our Accounting team in Waukee. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.

This role will be responsible for supporting the cash management, investments, debt, and asset processes to facilitate the timely, accurate, and consistent preparation of financial statements and reports required by the company and its external auditors.

Duties:

  • Prepare and process select journal entries for cash, investments, debt, assets, and leases as necessary.
  • Prepare reconciliations and reports related to cash, investment, debt, asset, and lease activities.
  • Prepare cash reconciliations and manage the cash activities, including performing internal transfers, monitoring banking activity, and projecting future cash flows.
  • Assist with activities related to the company’s investments portfolio, determine appropriate accounting treatment of new investments, and review investments for impairment.
  • Track the Company’s compliance with trust requirements and monitor state trust laws for changes.
  • Assist with lease administration including processing the accounting for the Company’s leases.
  • Prepare reports related to the Company’s debt obligations.
  • Support the year-end audit and audited financial statements by preparing and providing information to external auditors.
  • Perform account analysis and identify potential issues.
  • Pursue path of continuous process improvement to identify and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with documentation and compliance of accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-starter with a collaborative approach who values and encourages teamwork
  • Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Capable of exercising discretion in confidential matters
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of computers and ability to utilize various software packages including, but not limited to: Excel, Word, Workday, Sagitta and other accounting systems
  • Ability to communicate well with persons at all levels of authority both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time and meet deadlines during peak periods.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change
  • Is multi-tasked oriented and prioritizes work, voluntarily extends hours, and/or solicits additional resources when necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA's Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
