We are looking to add a Project Analyst to join our Strategy team in Waukee. Candidates thrive in our environment when they harness their collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal communication skills, and a love of learning.

This role will assist with projects to be successfully completed within deadlines and budget. This includes project planning, process analysis, requirements elicitation, schedule management, quality, and communication.

Duties:

  • Schedule Management: Create schedules, manage resource and capacity planning to drive project towards timely completion.
  • Resource Management: Design, development, and implementation of work plans to determine the required tasks and resources for small to medium sized projects spanning multiple business units. Organize, facilitate, and lead teams towards successful project completion.
  • Integration Management: Demonstrate competency in coordinating all aspects of small to medium sized projects involving multiple disciplines; coordinate projects with other on-going efforts.
  • Financial Management: Monitor project progress and anticipated total spend against budget and ROI where appropriate.
  • Risk Management: Identify and anticipate risks and issues; facilitate resolution, mitigation, and appropriate escalation.
  • Vendor Management: Communicate and manage work with third-party vendors to meet project requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify all stakeholders impacted by the project, managing their expectations and project involvement as needed.
  • Quality Management: Ensure quality standards are defined, monitored, and met throughout the project. Coordinate and assist in user acceptance testing, if needed
  • Communication Management: Ensure all key stakeholders are kept informed of project issues, obstacles and progress, including status reporting. Conduct post project reviews and communicate lessons learned.
  • Scope Management: Partners with business and other areas such as IT, Marketing and HR to manage scope of projects. Manages reductions and additions to scope through an established change management process to ensure right work is done to complete the project.
  • Business Analysis: Ability to facilitate requirements sessions to gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders. Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure business needs are met through appropriate technology solutions. Ability to serve as a liaison between end users and software development teams, including functioning as a subject matter expert (SME) in translating requirements to technical teams. 
  • Process Analysis: Develop and maintain detailed process maps and documentation. Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. 
  • Performs special projects and other duties as requested.

  • Ability to manage small to medium sized projects.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional maturity.

  • Knowledge of work planning (using such tools as MS Project).
  • Ability to foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage the scope change process and issue identification/resolution with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to monitor and communicate status to leadership. Communicate and incorporate feedback from clients.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize task efficiently and effectively.
  • Capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of inquiries.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
  • Ability and willingness to pursue relevant designations and/or continuing education, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Information Technology or Business preferred
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in project management. IT experience is preferred but not required. Experience in both waterfall and agile environments is helpful.
