**Job Summary**:The RN Unit Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of nursing care on a designated unit within a skilled nursing facility. This role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive work environment. The RN Unit Manager serves as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, patients, and their families, ensuring effective communication and the delivery of comprehensive care. **Key Responsibilities**:1. **Clinical Oversight**: - Supervise and direct nursing staff in providing quality patient care according to established standards. - Conduct daily rounds to monitor patient care and assess the conditions of patients. - Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and clinical conditions. - Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of patient records in compliance with state and federal regulations.2. **Staff Management and Development**: - Oversee the performance of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, providing guidance, support, and discipline as necessary. - Coordinate and conduct staff training, orientation, and ongoing education programs to maintain high standards of care. - Participate in hiring, evaluating, and retaining qualified nursing staff. - Promote teamwork and effective communication among staff members.3. **Quality Assurance and Compliance**: - Monitor and ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and standards of practice. - Participate in the facility’s quality assurance and improvement programs. - Conduct audits and evaluations of care delivery to identify areas for improvement. - Address and resolve any patient or family concerns in a timely and professional manner.4. **Administrative Duties**: - Prepare and manage unit budgets, including staffing, supplies, and equipment. - Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. - Maintain accurate and timely records of staffing schedules, patient assessments, and care plans.**QUALIFICATIONS**
MUST have valid RN or LPN Nursing License
MUST have 1 year of supervisory experience in skilled nursing or long term care setting
