Career Systems Development Corporation is Hiring an Operations Director - Roc Near Bronx, NY

OVERVIEW: Plans, organizes, and monitors the programs and activities of assigned Job Corps Centers, necessary to ensure that each Center is functioning at an optimal level and in an appropriate manner. The overall objectives are to train young disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16 and 24 to gain meaningful employment by providing comprehensive residential, vocational, educational and social training.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
  1. Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.
  2. Coordinates with Vice President responsible for Job Corps Centers, as assigned.
  3. Serves as a lead, co-lead, or team member of Corporate Office Center Assessments (COCAs).
  4. Develops and/or supports CSD Resource & Innovation Centers.
  5. Creates innovative approaches to upgrade center performance and corporate image.
  6. Provides technical expertise and Center-based training, as required.
  7. Conducts corporate monitoring of Center operations.
  8. Directs and facilitates corrective action plans for Center operations.
  9. Coordinates and follows up directly with Center Directors and Center senior leadership regarding progress on performance and/or corrective action plans.
  10. Keeps the Vice President informed on all matters sufficient to warrant attention.
  11. Serves as team lead and/or Center assignment for transition of new business.
  12. Facilitates DOL communications with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs).
  13. Responds to Center emergent situations, as needed.
  14. Responds to unannounced ROCAs, ROTAs, and monitoring visits at Centers.
  15. Prepares and submits any and all reports to the Vice Presidents, US DOL Regional Offices of Job Corps, the US Department of Labor, Employment and Training administration, as required, in a timely manner.
  16. Attends Regional Office visits, as needed.
  17. Assists with generating new business and may serve as part of a bid and proposal team.
  18. Develops, oversees and continuously improves the CSD Mentoring (staff to staff, staff to manager) program.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum: Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of at least one-year of experience in education and experience. Model company Core Values
Preferred: Possess a B.A. or B.S. Degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university; one-year experience in education or a similar field; and previous experience as a Center Director.
General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must be able to compose/write descriptive reports; use appropriate techniques to implement programmatic activities; remedy dysfunctional behavior; intervene with students in crisis with aggression control/safe physical management restraint techniques; successfully complete mandated training courses.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
