Career TEAM's Resource Room Specialists will be responsible for providing a professional level of registration, triage, and referral support for customers accessing Workforce Solutions East Texas facilities. The position will provide registration assistance and provision of Resource Room and other services supporting customer needs and/or program participation. This is a fully on-site temporary position, reporting to the listed location.

  • Professional greeting, registration, and assistance to Workforce Solutions East Texas customers.
  • Discern and address the needs of incoming customers.
    • Assist in engaging in resources available to address expressed needs.
    • Refer to resources as appropriate.
    • Provide program support (completion of forms, etc.) based upon review of Case Management Records.
  • Support program activities
    • Start and proctor assessment activities.
    • Provide updates to customers regarding application/eligibility status.
    • Assist with Supportive Services as needed.
    • Assist with Program Orientations and other Workforce Services.
  • Follow-up Engagement with Resource Room customers.
    • Follow up on service and support service referrals.
    • Documentation of referrals and services provided.
    • Follow up with Job Searching customers with subsequent referrals as appropriate.
  • Documentation and reporting of services provided as appropriate.
  • Engage in other activities as needed to support customers and services available through Workforce Solutions East Texas.
  • Check customers in when they arrive and assist with their direction in the office. (Assure use of Voss Greeter product.)
  • Assist customers with utilization of available Workforce tools and resources such as: Work in Texas (WIT), and Career Edge and provide support with Programmatic and Employment referrals.
  • Assist Career Advisors with outreach, recruitment, testing, and intake by collecting required documentation.
  • Conduct outreach and participate in activities/events relevant to increasing performance outcomes.
  • Provides Guidance for referrals to the Program Support and Employer Service team, Job developers, and placement specialists.
  • Conduct/Present Program Orientation presentations.
  • Completes forms for program customers as required for compliance with both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Conducts monthly PII Audits.
  • Engages, supports, and sustains customer relationships.
  • Provides and tracks referrals to community resources.
  • Responsible for monthly office supply orders
  • Responsible for providing all flyers for programs up to date and orderly in the lobby.
  • Keeping lobby area neat and tidy so as presentable1 to our customers.
  • Maintaining and updating the Resource Area digital display unit.
  • Gas card custodian and possibly bus pass inventory responsibility.

To Qualify for This Role, the Ideal Qualifications Include :

  • Education: Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Administrative office experience required. Must have 2 or more years' experience delivering high quality customer service.
  • Skills/Abilities: Must be Microsoft Office proficient. Ability to multitask required. Technical competencies are a must; trouble shoot laptop, copier, and printer issues, replace toner as needed and keep copier fully stocked.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Impeccable customer service skills, including patience and discernment
  • Ability to utilize coaching techniques with customers to drive exceptional performance and quality
  • Ability to utilize Excel to create reporting/tracking systems and data entry
  • Clear communication skills, creativity & resourcefulness.
  • Patience is crucial in this position as it is the "face of the workforce".
  • Must have valid driver's license and adequate vehicle insurance

  • Bi-Lingual, ability to speak Spanish

Pay Range: $15/hr.

Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with travel to other locations within the East Texas service area possible.
