POSITION PURPOSE: The CTE teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students in the Career and Technical Education program. They must provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to individuals' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development to ensure success for every student. The CTE Teacher is also responsible for supervising students in various school-related settings, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, and communicating/interacting with students, parents, staff, and the community. The CTE Teacher must develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Additionally, the CTE Teacher is responsible for maintaining appropriate records, following required procedures and practices, and monitoring the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
Bachelor’s, Associate, or High School Diploma Related Degrees: Carpentry; Construction Management; Building Construction, Electrician, Electrical Trades, HVAC, Plumbing Related Work Experience: Construction industry with demonstrated experience in the carpentry, electrical, and/or masonry fields, construction manager, electrician, mason, masonry installer, HVAC Technician, Plumber, previous teaching experience in this content area Years of Work Experience: 2 years with Bachelor’s 4 years with Associate 6 years with High School Diploma Credential(s) before hire/teaching: OSHA 10-Hour Safety-Construction required before teaching. Credential(s), Test, or Other Criteria required for Continuing: NCCER Instructor Certified Training Program (ICTP)
