Job Summary:
We are evolving new generations of the design exploration product Altair HyperStudy to advance what is possible in optimization and machine learning. HyperStudy has a 25 year history of helping engineers evolve products to improve performance and efficiency while reducing cost and waste. HyperStudy is part of the Altair HyperWorks product suite and is used in engineering in conjunction with modeling and simulation software. We are proud of the multiplicative impact HyperStudy has on our physical world as it is used to make millions of copies of thousands of products more efficient, safer, more reliable, lighter, and just plain better.
What You Will Do:
We are seeking a software developer to work primarily in C and Python. There are many aspects to the HyperStudy product and we generally group these into numerical methods, visualization, and connections with other software. There is flexibility within our team and generally everyone does some tasks that fall into each category. We are currently looking for someone who can do method development as well as general-purpose development.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
BSCS, BS Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent
Software development experience in C / Python
Experience working on large-scale software products
Multiplatform (Windows / Linux) development experience
Strong math skills
Preferred:
Ability to read, understand, explain, and utilize journal articles with complex mathematics
Advanced degree in Mathematics
Familiarity with engineering, computer simulation, CAD, and meshing
3-5 years of experience in software development
Familiarity with Design Exploration
Qt development
Experience with Statistics, Design of Experiments, Optimization, Stochastics, and Machine Learning
