Under the supervision of the Operations Group, A/R Manager; the Account Receivable Payment Processor is a key role within an organization’s Operations department. The primary responsibility of this position is to process payments made to Careington. The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, understand payment processes, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize and scan both Commercial and Retail customer check payments for processing
• Accurately post customer payments to correct accounts
• Verify posted payment checks are delivered to Accounting on bi-weekly basis
• Ensure monthly payment processing remittance and checks are filed per policy
• Assist Ops department with Lockbox decision management tool and reporting
• Work with AR team to prepare and present monthly collection reports
• Maintain up-to-date records of customer payment information and all other A/R related data

Experience and Software:

• 1 years of previous A/R, Cash Application, or payment processing experience preferred
• Lockbox experience a plus
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel to include pivot tables, v-lookups, formula development, and conditional formatting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Basic working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices
• Organizational and analytical skills with an eye for detail
• Excellent customer services skill and ability to communicate effectively with customers
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
