Job Description:
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
· Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
· Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests.
· Fill bottles with prescribed medications and prepare and affix labels.
· Assist customers by answering simple questions or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
· Price and file prescriptions that have been filled.
· Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
· Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data into computer.
· Mix pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
· Completes all assignments and signs all documents in PowerDMS and Relias in a timely manner.
· Willingly performs other duties as assigned and/or required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret prescriptions.
· Active state pharmacy license in good standing.
· Retail experience and demonstrated leadership ability.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form with mathematical skills.
· Ability to work independently and handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education and Experience:
Must be a Registered or State Certified Pharmacy Technician
High school diploma or equivalent is required
One (1) to three (3) years experience in field or related field
Must have BLS/CPR Certification
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 40 Hours, Full Time
