Carestream is Hiring a Purchasing Manager Near Windsor, CO

Carestream Health has a need for a Purchasing Manager at one of its US locations (Rochester, NY, Windsor, CO, White City, Oregon or Oakdale, MN), Hybrid 60% in the office; 40% remote office.

The Purchasing Manager role is an essential function in supporting Carestream Health’s strategic procurement initiatives and is an integral part of our purchasing organization. In this highly visible leadership role, the Purchasing Manager will lead a team of Commodity Managers (CMs) while also having their own specific commodity category responsibilities. This is a working supervisor role. The Purchasing Manager will be empowered to deliver value across team & individual assigned commodity categories. The Purchasing Manager is expected to perform high-level sourcing & negotiation activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Leadership:

• Lead a team of experienced professional CM's across various commodity categories. The team members are located in China, Latin America, and various locations within the USA.

• Build and maintain cross-functional relationships based on win – win goals and objectives.

• Create budgets and manage fiscal goals & expectations.

• Establish team goals, measure & manage progress against those goals, and coach & mentor where necessary.

• Track & report team accomplishments and progress against goals.

• Provide employee development planning & execution.

• Provide monthly one-on-ones with the assigned direct reports to maintain relationship & individual progress. Organize and conduct a monthly staff meeting will all direct reports present.

• Prepare mid-year & year-end performance reviews. Provide relevant and constructive feedback.

• Project Management -- lead and/or support internal corporate projects and/or Global Purchasing projects & improvement programs.

Specialized Skills in Chemicals:

• Deep knowledge, understanding & experience in chemicals, chemical sourcing, and exposure with manufacturing clients.

• Partner with leadership and internal clients to analyze & rationalize products & technology to drive added value.

Strategic Sourcing:

• Utilization of functional knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Commodity & Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Market Analysis, Commercial Terms & Conditions, and OEM Manufacturing.

• Aligned with internal clients, generate & evaluate Request For Information (RFI), Request For Quotation (RFQ), Request For Proposal (RFP), Statement Of Work (SOW), and other.

• Negotiate pricing & terms, negotiate, and write confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, consignment agreements, termination letters, and other contract documents for assigned commodity categories.

• Define, establish, and lead the strategic sourcing process (including all phases of marketplace or benchmark analysis, understanding index & feedstock pricing, E-auction, bundling, supplier identification, qualification & selection, and product accreditation & approval for use if necessary).

• Negotiate and manage payment terms to the corporate net 60-day standard, ensure suppliers are paid timely, and intervene to resolve payment delays promptly.

• Manage domestic & international suppliers and supply chains. Understand the global logistics markets to better enable the efficient & cost-effective movement of purchased or produced items across the globe.

Client & Vendor Relationships and Analysis and other duties upon request.

Required Skills & Education:

• B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt., Business or Finance.

• Minimum 7 years procurement, sourcing, or commodity management experience, 2 years in a leadership role.

• Minimum 4 years prior supervisory experience.

• Travel as required. Willingness and the experience to travel, both domestically and internationally.

• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills, and teamwork experience. Must possess the ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships based on win – win goals and objectives.

• Work in a self-managed team environment with minimal direct supervision, Self-Motivator.

• Proven track record of delivering or exceeding expectations.

• Demonstrated effective computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail, and Internet. Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. SAP/Ariba preferred.

• Innovative and results oriented with a high degree of professional and ethical behavior. Ability to effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, executive presence, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively.

• Sensitivity to different cultures and global country practices.

• Excellent business & financial acumen, ability to function as business partner through teaming, with the ability to motivate, influence and drive change in a collaborative and effective way.

Desired Skills:

• MBA or other Masters.

• Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment (or similar highly regulated industry). Familiarity with Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Supplier Controls a plus.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 & 13485 a plus.

• Six-sigma (green, brown, or black belt), or equivalent a plus.

• Professional purchasing or supply chain certifications a plus.

• Project Management skills a plus.

• Second language skills a plus.
