Summary:

Under the direction of the Clinical Operations Officer (or designee) performs treatment services utilizing Best Practices Guidelines while working in the IOP setting. The position is distinguished from other counselor positions by focusing on addressing substance abuse issues exclusively.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides appropriate evidence- based substance use treatment including recovery, maintaining recovery, and relapse prevention.
• Coordinates with appropriate community entities to maintain positive relationships and facilitate the program by attending all meetings or other assigned activities (such as Liaison, court attendance, meeting with judges and probation officers, etc.) designated by the Clinical Operations Officer and completes all appropriate accompanying paperwork.
• Prepares and maintains all medical/clinical records in accordance with Center quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Coordinates all class schedules, staff coverage, and IOP referrals for all on-going IOP program locations, including both jail based and outpatient IOP groups.
• Must participate in weekly staffing with all IOP clinical staff.
• Participates, at a minimum, in one hour of clinical supervision on a weekly basis, or as otherwise directed by the Center.
• Participates in required training to maintain credentialing status.
• Ensure that all clients served in IOPs receive a strengths- based, person- centered treatment plan developed by IOP clinical personnel. Supervises clinical personnel.
• Ensures all clients receive a comprehensive safety/crisis plan.
• Is consistently on time for work and follows Center policies regarding requesting leave from work.
• Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies.
• Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

Position Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or other master’s degree eligible for licensure for clinical social worker or professional counselor. Carey Counseling Center, Inc. expects all master’s level employees to pursue licensure in the time frame designated by the health-related board specific to their degree. Experience in a mental health setting is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, walking, turning, twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (<20lbs), manual dexterity using keyboard and other office equipment; must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
