Role SummaryAs a Principal Engineer Sr ,you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our hardware platform designs. This individual will lead the design verification efforts, overseeing the testing and validation processes to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements. Their expertise will be instrumental in identifying and resolving design flaws, optimizing performance, and enhancing product reliability. The Principal Engineer Sr will report to the Director Test System & Automation, who supports the hardware platform development department. Role ResponsibilitiesTesting, Validation, and Compliance
Ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with project objectives
Develop and implement test procedures, methodologies, and automation frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
Analyze test results, identify anomalies, and work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and drive resolution
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Define comprehensive test strategies tailored to specific project objectives and requirements, considering factors such as performance, reliability, safety, and compliance
Regularly conduct internal audits to ensure that testing methodologies and tools comply with relevant industry and regulatory standards
Product Development
Lead the design verification process for hardware platform development projects
Define test strategies, create test plans, and execute test cases
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design verification and hardware testing for product development
Team Collaboration
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and quality assurance specialists
Act as a subject matter expert in design verification and hardware testing, providing guidance and support to team members across various stages of the product development lifecycle
Foster a collaborative working environment by actively engaging with different teams to address and solve problems
Years Of Experience
12 years of relevant experience in design verification and validation in a hardware development environment
Required Education
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Desired Education
Master 's in Electrical Engineering , Computer Science, or a related field

Experienced in collaborating with several different teams, including SW engineering, HW engineering, and mechanical engineering teams
Expertise in identifying and resolving hardware product design flaws
Proven experience with different engineering validation stages and phases
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Work Flexibility
Travel to worldwide locations required
CompensationSalary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training. In the city of Mountain View, California, the salary range for this position is $159,600 - $249,800. CARIAD, Inc. provides performance based merits and annual bonus along with a competitive benefits package.
