The Retail Attendant will provide suggestions, information, and assistance to guests as requested. Responsible for substantial knowledge of products in store as well as general product knowledge regarding merchandise for sale on property.

Position Requirements

• Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
• Minimum of one (1) year retail experience preferred, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Previous cash handling and Point of Sale (POS) experience.
• Possess outstanding guest service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge each guest promptly (using the guest's name when known) with hotel greeting standard.
• Knowledge of hotel layout.
• Stock shelves, counters, tables, and similar display fixtures with merchandise in a fashion that maximizes product visibility and promotes sales.
• Work with team to ensure operational standards are achieved including merchandise replenishment, visual merchandising, processing shipments, and store cleanliness.
• Learn product details and perform sales responsibilities for items offered.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
• Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language; Second language is a plus.
• Must be able to work with basic arithmetic functions.
• Using basic computer hardware and software.
• Willing to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Proficient in performing multiple tasks.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
• Experience using software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Previous knowledge of PMS system preferred, including Opera or similar programs, is beneficial, but not a requirement.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
