Statement of General Purpose:

The Summer Camp Lifeguard/Aquatics Instructor is responsible for actively monitoring the safety and wellbeing of indoor swimming activities for children in our summer camp program

• Actively supervise all summer camp swimming activities within our indoor pool, ensuring the health and safety of program participants and pool guests.
• Respond to potentially unsafe behaviors by immediate redirecting children and/or guests.
• Respond to emergency situations and issues with the appropriate course of action (CRP, first aid, etc.).
• Provide lessons, instructions, guidance, and direction in water safety, sports and exercise activities.
• Ensure full compliance with all water safety rules and regulations.
• Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of the pool area, pool, water, deck, staff office, locker room, and related areas and equipment; maintain a clean organized, and safe program space.
• Performs related work as required.

• Extensive knowledge of water safety, CPR, first aid, etc.
• Knowledge of swimming pools and related equipment, including their maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of swimming pool sports and exercise activities.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work productively with employees, clients, program participants, and others in a positive, pleasant, professional, and productive manner.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Lifeguard certification
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Prior lifeguard experience preferred.
• Ability to submit all required background checks, health screenings, and other regulatory documentation.
