Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee that third party carriers comply with all regulatory agencies
- Attend and lead various meetings within the department, safety, operations, and scheduling
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts for annual inventory audit
- Manage cross-training for department
- Responsible for mid-year and annually performance reviews for department
- Manage outside carrier shipping costs
- Prior knowledge and experience in warehouse and shipping operation, Inventory Accuracy
- Understand quality standards for products
- Experience using SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Exposure to International shipments, including overseas containers and Canadian transportation
- Fleet leasing and associated insurance requirements/DOT Regulations (at select locations)
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills, root cause analysis
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead people and get results from others
- Understand fundamentals of coaching, counseling, and feedback
- Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5s, safety
- Reading and Math comprehensive skills
- Writing – schedules shipping log, warehouse documents
- Ability to manage forklift maintenance
- Ability to make decisions independently and jointly
- A four-year degree in a business, desired
- Five plus years’ experience in a management role relating to logistics, inventory control, or lean manufacturing
