Carlisle Brake & Friction Inc is Hiring a Distribution Manager Near Franklin, IL

Carlisle Construction Materials, is a global leader in the building materials industry. We've been around since 1917. We have an immediate opening for a Distribution Manager, at our Franklin Park, IL facility. The Distribution Manager will be responsible for overseeing and providing managerial support to the Shipping, Warehouse and Inventory activities. Must have the ability to interreact with all levels of people, including sales and freight carriers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee that third party carriers comply with all regulatory agencies
  • Attend and lead various meetings within the department, safety, operations, and scheduling
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts for annual inventory audit
  • Manage cross-training for department
  • Responsible for mid-year and annually performance reviews for department
  • Manage outside carrier shipping costs
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
  • Prior knowledge and experience in warehouse and shipping operation, Inventory Accuracy
  • Understand quality standards for products
  • Experience using SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Exposure to International shipments, including overseas containers and Canadian transportation
  • Fleet leasing and associated insurance requirements/DOT Regulations (at select locations)
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills, root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead people and get results from others
  • Understand fundamentals of coaching, counseling, and feedback
  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5s, safety
  • Reading and Math comprehensive skills
  • Writing – schedules shipping log, warehouse documents
  • Ability to manage forklift maintenance
  • Ability to make decisions independently and jointly
Education and Experience:
  • A four-year degree in a business, desired
  • Five plus years’ experience in a management role relating to logistics, inventory control, or lean manufacturing
