Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies is Hiring a Demand & Inventory Planner Near Carlisle, PA

This position is responsible for monitoring the inventory positions to maximize service to the customer and optimizing inventory for the assigned commodity. This monitoring includes inventory levels, production to forecasts, new code creation, master data reviews, slow moving materials, overdue supplies and MRP functions. Analyst will partake in forecasting, demand planning and rationalization of SKU’s processes along with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews inventory levels compared to demand.
  • Works with other MRP Controllers, and plant schedulers to optimize production.
  • Creates new codes when requested and monitor the process through the division until ready for sale.
  • Provides input for inventory strategies for new products.
  • Performs daily exception monitoring tasks in ERP system.
  • Monitors or performs transferring of products between facilities to maximize flow of inventory.
  • Partakes in forecasting processes to continuously improve which would involve analyzing data and interacting with sales to understand customer needs.
  • Leads root cause analysis initiatives and formulate action plans to remedy issues.
  • Assists other MRP Controllers and backup as needed.
  • Performs master data reviews with and without other MRP Controllers.
  • Reviews Inventory Turns and analyzes where improvements could be made.
  • Completes the Demand Segmentation process twice per year.
  • Product Rationalization – Review if products should be stock, MTO (lead times), etc.
  • Updates measurable performance metrics while recommending and making changes to improve performance of company’s inventory and production goals.
  • Assists in the monthly SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Planning) Process.
  • Monitors and communicates slow moving products to sales, plants etc. (SMOG).
  • Monitors or reports backorders or lead times.
  • Builds strong internal and external relationships.
  • Participates in physical inventory activities and monitor cycle counting monthly.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Strong data analysis and forecasting skills
  • Knowledge of ERP software, SAP preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills with advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Ability to understand inventory levels for the various product lines, identify improvements and implement changes as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of operations and/or customer service
  • Effectively manage pressure and stress
  • Ability to analyze and act upon information quickly
