Job Description

Job purpose

Responsible for day-to-day shipping functions. This includes traditional pick, pack, and shipping duties in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Individual must have the ability to work with Computers and the Required software. Individual will demonstrate the ability and motivation to ensure all customer orders are shipped as required.

Individual must possess the ability to operate a sit-down and stand-up forklift in a safe manner. Individual will be trained and must be proficient with the Delivery Information System (DIS).

Individual must be focused on avoiding ship / pick errors.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Run Deliveries and Print Pick Sheets
  • Update all Loads on the Active Shipping Board
  • Prepare Daily Shipment Paperwork (i.e. BOL, Packing Slips, Pro #’s )
  • Post Goods Issued (PGI)
  • Prepare and Ship Small Parcels (i.e. UPS)
  • Update the Delivery Monitor
  • Perform Shipping Lead and Shipper Primary Duties as Needed
  • Perform Shipping / General Supervisor Primary Duties, Pertaining to Shipping, as required
  • Inventory all Non-Stock Items in Assigned area
  • Participate in cycle count program as directed
  • Complete Safety documents as required to support CCM’s requirements
  • Complete required daily PMs and operator equipment care (OEC) daily needs.
  • Assist in maintaining SQCD boards and communication of daily performance.
  • Assist with the training and development of new employees.
  • Conduct end of shift inspection of daily completed finish good materials placed in the warehouse : labeling, wrapping, stacking,5S area, and location compliance.
  • Support team leader duties in their absence.
  • Support other operator team members in their absence
  • Qualifications
  • Education High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Two to five (2-5) years of consistent warehouse, forklift loading experience in a production environment.
  • Understanding of math, written, and reading skills
  • Some problem-solving skills and basic computer skills.
  • Forklift and material handling experience

Working conditions

This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with limited exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical with the press.

Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Monday Friday although some overtime may be required during high sales volumes.

2pm-1045pm, and rotating Saturday)

Physical requirements

For this position, it is required to be able to lift to 50 pounds. There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds.

In addition, this position requires the following abilities listed with percentages :

Standing 70%

Lifting, Bending, and Twisting 15%

Walking 50%

Sitting, Squatting, reaching above shoulders, 40%

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used

While working on the manufacturing floor, eye, ear, and feet protection is always required. Other forms of PPE may be required as defined by Safety Policies and task being performed.
