Responsible for ensuring a high quality experience for residents through communication with residents, responsible parties and Management. The Resident Liaison demonstrates on-going efforts to enhance and maintain resident satisfaction in the community through resident and family expectation management and advocacy Essential Duties and responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Recognizes and understands the physical, mental and emotional needs of residents
Ability to assess complex situations and engage residents and their families in problem solving
Works with residents and family members to help with the transition into an Assisted Living Community and adjustment to the aging process
Key point person for resident and family questions within the community. Addresses these questionsto the extent that capabilities allow. Refers to appropriate departments and provides follow-up to ascertain that problems/questions are solved
Keeps detailed written documentation of interactions with residents and family members
Acts as a liaison between residents, family members, and the community
Assists residents gain access to basic needs
Coordinates ancillary services such as Podiatrist, Vision, Dental and Audiology
Visits residents in their apartments to identify care needs
Functions as part of the interdisciplinary team in order to manage resident and family needs
Attends Family Care Conferences with residents, family members and a representative from theWellness Department
Attend Resident Council Meetings
Provide our residents with support groups and professional resources that will educate and enrich ourresidents lives
R.L.'s must be aware, communicate and document behavioral issues regarding the residents, focusingprimarily on suicidal tendencies, depression and isolation. To assist them in this process they should further their education on these topics through webinars, CEU courses or seminars when applicable
Provide residents with opportunities to give back to the outside community
Retaining residents in our communities as long as we are able to meet their medical needs andfinancial restraints
Maintains awareness of safety and environmental concerns
Keeps current on Title 22 regulations that pertain to your department
You may be required to provide prospective resident tours of your Community as part of the back-up tour team
Qualifications
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Demonstrate excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
Interact well with our Carlton Family - residents, family members, all staff members, futureresidents
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions
Respond to resident requests in a professional and timely manner, with sensitivity, compassion and a positive attitude
Make every effort to ensure resident comfort and satisfaction with services provided in thecommunity
Hold a thorough understanding of Resident Rights
Education and Experience
Two years of direct experience working with the geriatric population
Proven problem-solving ability
High School diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience
According to Title 22 requirements, employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Technical Skills
Must be computer literate with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Certificates, License, Registration
Current First Aid Certification (obtained through community)
DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to working in community (obtained through community)
Health screening and negative TB test, must be less than six (6) months old. (obtained through community)
